A panel discussion at Global Fact 4 in Madrid in July 2017.

Representatives from fact-checking organizations, media outlets, NGOs and academia are invited to discuss the future of accountability journalism.

The International Fact-Checking Network, in partnership with Pagella Politica, is organizing the Fifth Global Fact-Checking Summit June 20 to 22 in Rome.

The event will cover issues in fact-checking and misinformation such as reaching out with facts to skeptical audiences; new formats for fact-checking; acceleration and automation of the fact-checking process; and fact-checking and the platforms.

Registration is free. Priority will be given to participants from organizations that are actively conducting fact-checking. A very limited number of travel bursaries will be available.

The deadline is Feb. 14.
