Istinomer, first fact-checking web portal in the region, and CRTA invite you to the international conference that will look into ways to fight disinformation in 21st century and whether traditional media are able to address these challenges.
Istinomer, first fact-checking web portal in the region, and CRTA are pleased to invite you to the international conference Disinformation – Are We Losing the Game?, which will take place on June 28 in Belgrade at the Zira Hotel (Mikonos hall).
Disinformation and fake news phenomenon is not new, but the speed at which they are spreading and influencing the public opinion, makes it a focal point of interest. The conference will look into ways to fight disinformation in 21st century and whether traditional media are able to address these challenges.
As this is a global phenomenon and the question of credibility of the media is of utmost importance, Istinomer journalists will discuss these topics with representatives of international and local media (RTS, Blic, N1, Lithuanian web-portal Delfi…). The conference will focus on local issues in the Serbian media and positive examples in fighting disinformation in different countries worldwide.
Panel Fact checking – Matter of Belief should send the message that fact checking is not reserved only for journalists and therefore we will host representatives of different professions who have already done some fact checking.
Conference should commence with the presentation of the findings of a regional media monitoring (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia) focusing on the ways for spreading disinformation and fake news.
Istinomer (Eng. Truth-o-Meter) was launched in 2009 as the fact-checking platform that enables citizens to assess performance and raise demand for accountability in the work of politicians and public institutions.
We kindly ask to confirm your presence by Monday, June 25 to email@example.com or phone number +381 64 3900 894.
