Report: Indicators on the level of media freedom and journalists’ safety in Serbia 2017

The report “Serbia: Indicators on the level of media freedom and journalists’ safety 2017“, published on 22/1/2018, focuses on analyzing three key indicators: legal protection of media and journalists’ freedoms; journalists’ position in the newsrooms, professional ethics and level of censorship, and journalists’ safety, while also identifying key challenges and obstacles  that journalists’ association and other stakeholders face in Serbia.

The publication is a follow up to the 2016 study that provided an overview of the legislative, socio-economic and political situation pertaining to media freedom and safety of journalists in Serbia.

The main aim of the 2017 study is to identify new developments and compare the levels of media freedoms and journalists’ safety in 2017 with those identified in 2016.
