Summer School for Journalists and Media Practitioners: The Future of the Information Sphere and Journalism Intelligence

Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom from Florence is organising a summer school for journalists and media practitioners, focusing on the role of big technology companies and their impact on media and information ecosystems.

The summer school will take place in Florence from 23 until 27 June, 2025.

The programme will feature presentations by distinguished experts, followed by interactive sessions designed to enhance participants’ understanding, engagement, and networking. This year’s edition will also feature a Practice Day with a creative lab where journalists and artists can collaborate to create new formats to reconnect journalism with its audience.

Organisers are offering up to 24 scholarships:

  • CMPF Summer School Programme – 20 scholarships: available to applicants from EU countries, candidate countries, and potential candidates participating in the Creative Europe programme (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine, Armenia, Tunisia), as well as EFTA countries that are part of the European Economic Area: Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein.
  • Widening Countries Programme – up to 4 scholarships: available to applicants from the Widening Countries.

Deadline for applications is 4 May, 2025.
